Gavin Malia moved to Steamboat Springs for “one ski season” in 1994. He paid for his first season pass by working as a laborer that summer on the Fish Creek Reservoir Expansion Project. Since that time, Gavin served as the GIS Coordinator for the City of Steamboat Springs for five years and is now a partner in the local real estate development group, Resort Ventures West, Inc., where Gavin currently works as the President of Real Estate. Gavin is also the Managing Partner in the local general contracting company, Steamboat Building Company. Over the years, Gavin has served and continues to serve as a Board and/or Committee member of several local non-profits. He has a BA in Environmental Studies from the University of Colorado and an MBA in Finance from Colorado State University and lives year-round in Steamboat Springs with his two sons, ages 16 and 14.
